Only a short drive from the villa; you can have lunch and experience the grapes at one of Pisa's leading Vineyard sites which has 25 Vineyards in all major locations in Pisa including Cevoli Di Lari, Fauglia, Montecatini Val Di Cecina, Montescudaio, Palaia, Peccioli, Pontedera, Ripabella, San Miniato and Terricciola.  Alternatively, near the Florence-Siena expressway after a scenic, meandering drive lies the excellent winery of Castello di Fonterutoli.  One can taste the wine or pamper oneself with their selection of oil and beauty products.

Tuscan Cooking
Beginners and advanced Tuscan cooking courses, as well as customised programmes for those wishing to learn how to cook traditional, Tuscan dishes. Have the experts come out to you at the villa or you can attend cooking lessons at one of the many cookery courses in the area.  Wine and food tours of the region are offered to supplement the cooking courses which will allow you to experience the uniqueness of Tuscan cuisine.

Coastal Tours

Truffle Hunts
Experience the excitement of truffle hunting in the surrounding Chianti Hills or the Cinta Senese.  A professional guide with truffle hunting dog will assist you in foraging out those little black gems and maybe even the rarer white ones which grow underground in woodland. 

Early morning truffle hunts last for around 3 hours but really dedicated hunters can start at midnight when truffles are supposed to smell most strongly.  Every year in autumn, San Miniato and the surrounding villages organise exhibitions within festivals where local people, food tourists and international traders can buy truffles, eat truffle dishes and experience this gastronomic delight.

Cheese and Olive Festivals
Visit local farms that specialise in producing organic cheese from fresh ricotta to ripened pecorino.  Volterra is surrounded by a unique landscape which contributes to unique flavours and quality cheese production. Take a tour of the barn where the sheep and the pigs lodge and taste different kinds of cheese together with local ham, salami, home-made honey and wine for a genuine light lunch. Of course Tuscany is synonymous with olive oil and in fact the villa has its own producing olive grove.  Experience the first press both at the villa and at local olive producing farms in the same way you would experience wine tasting.  Develop a knowledge of the secrets of a good first pressing; the different phases of production and the secrets of a good extra virgin olive oil!

The area surrounding the villa plays host to some of the most prestigious Italian golf courses. With golf courses in Firenze, Maremma and Tirrenia - all 18 hole and international standard courses; one of which, was designed by Baldovino Dass.  Surrounded by silvery olive groves; providing multiple tee areas; water play, sand dunes and stunning landscaping which will challenge and excite golfers of all levels.
